Animal Crossing is the first of its series to be released in America and other places across the world. It was released for Nintendo Gamecube in September of 2002--the advanced version of the Japanese Nintendo 64 game, Animal Forest.
With tons of cool characters in town there is a never dull moment when you play. The game goes by real-time, meaning the same time as your clock! And the days turn to nights and seasons change same as they do where you live. You begin the game as a broke young person who has just decided to become independent and move out of your parents' home. As you ride on a train to your new destination, you are greeted by a cat named Rover. He'll ask you your name and what town you are going to live. After discovering that you hadn't actually made plans before you left (smooth move, by the way) then he'll call up a friend by the name of Tom Nook who runs a shop in the small village you are moving to. When you arrive at your destination, you'll meet the animal and he'll provide you with a home that you pull a loan out for.
Just like in the real world, many events occur such as the regular holidays that are indigenous to your region and even some other fun events like the Fishing Tourney. Not only are there many animals that will move in and out of your town for, there are also special characters that host events and just show up randomly for you to interact with.
There are plenty of ways to make money in this game so becoming a wealthy villager in your town won't be that hard of a task, but like the rest of us--you have to ask others or figure out on your own the best way to make money for you! Enjoy your gaming!
