Animal Forest was a game released only in Japan. Greedy, eh? Just kidding. They reserve the right to do so. Especially since it's an old, Nintendo 64 game, and wasn't the only platform just released there.
True, there are some people around the world the special ordered this "hidden" part of the Animal Crossing franchise, but, they probably stand within the 10% of America and possibly Europe. Think about that, not too many, eh?
Even from the start of Animal Forest it's crazy how many people believed that it is much like a cross between Harvest Moon and others... They've said that about every game except for Wild World haven't they? Yeah, I thought so. I don't see the correlation between the two, but this apparently is just me.
In fact, if you've played Animal Crossing for GCN then you will soon find out that Animal Forest is practically the same game. Unfortunately for Animal Forest, Nintendo 64 was starting to die out by the time of its release. Yeah, real sad. But it did make a slight success despite the fact that Gamecube was on the market at the time. Never did make it overseas, I'm not sure if this was because of the low sales because of it not being for Gamecube, or because they wanted a game all their own. Either way, I don't think they really knew what they had created at the time. And that it would take the world by storm with its series-to-be.

Another, all on its own Japanese release sequel to Animal Forest. This was just mainly to improve what Nintendo 64 couldn't do. For example, everytime you loaded the game, you had to input the date and time. But, because of the Gamecube's internal clock, all that changed and they could really use the slogan, "It's playing when you're not."
